Back again with another album full of twangy goodness , Mike Detmer has re-emerged with a cast of characters that includes Jonathan Williams, William Ryan Fletcher, Travis Talbert, and Daniel Peterson to continue his journey through twangy home spun lo-fi folk rock.
Since their inception in the early 2000's, The Spectacular Fantastic have been releasing albums on small regional labels, earning a modest following over the years. Highlights from the band's past include a top 3 finish in the final 97xposure contest put on by the iconic 97x woxy, a Citybeat CEA nomination in the the singer/songwriter category that same year and several regional appearances at festivals including Midpoint Music Festival, Desdemona and the Forecastle Festival in Louisville Ky. The band also created quite a buzz in the early internet blog days by self releasing several free albums and eps.
Based in the rolling hills of Southeastern Indiana for the better part of his life, it's impossible to separate the dream from reality. When listening to “The Spectacular Fantastic Cracks The Code” it's easy to get wrapped up in the twangy, classic pop stylings and find yourself drifting away to pure pop bliss.
